My First Night Shift uses an anthology-style structure. A man has just been hired as night manager at a stately, slightly faded hotel, and on his first night he learns he is the only male member of staff on duty. His job includes running room service, so each knock on a guest's door brings a new face and another woman who has decided his debut shift should be memorable.
