British Summer With My Stepbro is a five-episode Candy Shorts drama in which Mona, an adult, spends a summer in Kent with her step-brother and a strait-laced English family. With a free account the opening two episodes are yours to watch; the other 3 are locked.
Mona among the English upper crust
The kind of English family that inherits its manners along with its money is the setting British Summer With My Stepbro drops Mona into. She and her step-brother, both adults, are spending the season as guests of an old-money family in Kent, and the household runs on order, routine and good behavior. Mona, unfortunately for everyone, runs on impulse.
Her feelings toward her step-brother swing back and forth, warm one day and frosty the next, and those swings play out in front of hosts who expect everyone to behave. The comedy of manners and the step-family storyline feed each other: every flash of tension between the two guests threatens to unsettle a house built on decorum.
