Therapy that turns into a trap

Plenty of step-family storylines open with an obvious temptation. Step-Sister's Secret opens on a therapist's couch. An adult woman goes into therapy hoping to shake an obsession with the man who lives in her mother's house, a fixation she clearly sees as a problem to fix. The sessions are supposed to help. Instead she begins to realize that the therapist, her mother and both of her sisters are not neutral bystanders at all. They seem to be shaping what he wants, and what she feels, as if following a plan drafted in advance.

That gives the series a slightly paranoid, puzzle-box feel. The question is less what happens next and more who is actually in control.
